A copper or copper alloy spearhead with a triangular blade and a slightly raised, flat central rib. A long tang terminates in a small 'hook-tail' hook. Small chips present along blade edges.
This belongs to the earliest phase of Aegean metalworking. The word 'copper' derives from the Latin 'cuprum,' meaning 'metal of Cyprus.' Cyprus's rich copper deposits made it one of the most important metallurgical centres of the ancient Mediterranean.
