A fine Luristan spearhead with a leaf-shaped blade, a raised midrib, and a distinctive 'hook-tail' tang that curves and flares at its terminal end. Reference Items
Comparison to Marlik Weapons: Excavations at Marlik Tepe (northern Iran) have yielded very similar long-bladed, tanged spearheads, often buried in warrior elite tombs. These weapons share the leaf-like profile and structural midrib seen in this artifact.
Historical Significance
The hook-tail tang represents one of the earliest hafting methods. The combat strike marks make this an important witness to actual ancient warfare, as opposed to purely ceremonial deposits.
